5 Months Old!

Big Boy is 5 months old today! He weighed in yesterday at 16 pounds, 7 ounces.

We're convinced that most of his weight gain is going directly to his belly and cheeks.

Cole still isn't interested in sleeping much these days. He's clearly exhausted, but apparently Grumpypants likes to party all night AND all day long.

Ralphie has summed up how we're all feeling:

Cole is still interested in putting everything into his mouth. If it goes into his hands, it's going in the mouth. He has also started to open his mouth wide if he sees us drinking something, or if we come in close to his face to give him a kiss.

He's still taking a break from rolling over. Well, he sort of rolled today. It was in slow motion, and went something like this: Roll from tummy to side. Pause. Roll from side to back. Pause. Look relieved to be off tummy.

He does enjoy his tummy time, though, and continues to try to bring his knees up under his belly. He's also constantly kicking away while on his back. We like to think that he's practicing pilates.

He's getting better at sitting up on his own, and is able to sit for a while in his bumbo chair while playing with (or chewing on) toys.

We are heading up to Lake Geneva on Thursday to spend Thanksgiving with Nana & Papa Jackson, Aunt Amy, Uncle Scott, Cousins Robyn, Hailey, and Nathan, Aunt Doreen, Uncle Steve, Cousins Eric, Lauren, and Taylor, and of course, Great Grandma Eleanor. We're flying again, and are hoping for uneventful flights!
