Just an Update and Some Pictures

Cole has been a busy little man this week. Yesterday he welcomed his new cousin to the world. It's nice to finally meet you, Austin!

His eating is getting much better. We've found that he's much more receptive to new things if he has a meal of solid food before his bottle. He's progressed to eating "rice krispies", Mum-Mums (rice/potato wafers), freeze dried fruit, and today tried rice chex. He loved the chex. So much, in fact, that he tried to feed them to himself. A first for Mr. Cheeks! His pincher grasp isn't that great yet, but he managed to get a couple into his mouth.

We are working on introducing soft/slimy textures. So far we have tried canned peaches and pears. He likes them about 50% of the time. Sometimes they're ok if Mom uses her hand to feed him, other times he prefers to be spoon fed small pieces.

On the speech front, it's been a great week. Cole is now saying "ba ba ba" and "da da da" on a regular basis. They are wonderful sounds to hear! We head back to speech therapy tomorrow, so we'll see what she's got in store for us to practice in the coming week.
