1st Birthday Party

We had an early celebration for Cole's first birthday on Saturday. We had a great time spending the day with friends and family.

Cheeks was a really lucky guy. He got lots of attention and play time with his cousins and friends.

Cole's allergies made making a birthday cake a little challenging. Using alternative flours made his giant cupcake pretty dense... and it tasted a little like sand (Mom really did try, Buddy). To our surprise, though, Cole actually seemed to enjoy it.

Cole had been peeking into his gift bags during the party, but Mom and Dad (and Abby) seemed to have the most fun opening his presents. Everyone was so generous.

After the party, Cole took a pretty good nap, and woke up ready to explore some of his new toys. The boy that he is, he was very interested in his dump truck, and spent the evening pushing it around and inspecting the wheels. He immediately figured out how to push the buttons to make noises, and gets big smiles when he hears the sounds.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to celebrate with us. We're so thankful to be back in the area.
