Ralphie and Her Brother

Cole and Ralphie are pretty good buddies these days. Ralphie still knocks Cole around a bit, but most of the time Cole thinks it's pretty funny. She's become much more patient with his tugs on her beard and tail, and we're teaching Cole to be gentle with his pets.

Cole started in home therapy this week. His speech therapist showed Mom how to massage his cheeks to help wake his muscles up. He tried a lemon "sucker" (and loved it), and showed off by imitating the sound of a vibrating teether (he made a growling sound, of course). She's going to order him some toys that will help stimulate his mouth and cheeks, and next week we'll start working on teaching him to use a cup and/or straw. He was a pretty good sport throughout the session. He got a little antsy when he wasn't allowed to stuff his face with food, but quickly got over that once he was able to scarf down some purees.

His nutritionist came over this afternoon. She gave Mom a lot of useful information about his allergies. She weighed and measured him, and Cole, being the modest little guy that he is, gave himself lots of applause after each measurement. She will come back to visit in a couple weeks to give Mom some tips on things she can cook for Cole. We still have some homework to do on completely removing his allergens from his diet, but we're getting there. Today he weighed in at 23 pounds, 11 ounces, and measured 30 and 3/8 inches. Big boy!

Great job, Cole! You're such a good sport!
