Cole went back for another round of allergy testing yesterday, and we learned that in addition to milk, soy, peanuts, and eggs, he is also allergic to corn and wheat. Poor Cheeks! Since Mom just found out that she, too, is allergic to corn, she's been busy doing research on what packaged foods are safe for both her and Cole to eat. Unfortunately, she is quickly learning that corn is in EVERYTHING (including Cole's formula, the thickener used for his formula, and possibly the jarred pureed fruit and veggies we have been feeding him). We suppose it probably isn't such a terrible thing to have Cole on a diet of whole, real food.
Cole was a really good sport at the allergist. He was busy playing with a toy while the nurse pricked his back, and he didn't even notice what was happening. He got a little fussy once he started to itch, but lots of attention and applause from the nurses cheered him up. Cheeks loves an audience!
