Brave Boy!

Yesterday Cole was a very brave boy. He had surgery to remove a small mass on his neck (likely a dermoid).

Overall, he was a really good sport. He is not a big fan of doctors, so we decided to give him a little medicine to relax him prior to being wheeled off for surgery. This was a good call. He was taken away without any tears (which was definitely easier on Mom and Dad!).

His surgery lasted about 30 minutes, and we were able to see him right as he was waking up. He was quite the pitiful sight, and his little cries were hoarse from the breathing tube that was in place during the procedure. It was heartbreaking to see him like that, and we were thankful that we got to give him some hugs and kisses right away.

He had a little bit of a tough time coming out of the anesthesia, but by the time we were discharged, he was mostly back to his old self, blowing kisses to the nurse and giving some smiles.

He threw up on the car ride home, but beyond that, he was a happy little camper the rest of the day. Happy to be home, happy to be in Elmo PJs, and happy to get to EAT!

This morning he woke up talking about hockey, and ready to take Ralphie (or these days "Rasheed") on a walk.

Great job, brave boy! We're so thankful that you're ok. Love you!
