Independence

Cole still eats a lot of purees, and so therefore, he gets spoon fed by Mom or Dad a lot. Lately, however, he has been very interested in feeding himself. He's not too coordinated, and usually dumps the spoon upside down (and loses the food) before it gets to his mouth, but he has fun. His eyes light up, and it's easy to see that he likes doing it himself.

He had a good 'ol time at breakfast this morning. He was having so much feeding himself that he ate 2 waffles, 2 jars of pureed pears, and a whole container of yogurt. This is a lot for Cheeks in the morning. We had a record length breakfast at close to 40 minutes.

While it is neat to see him grow and learn new things everyday (and to take such joy in small things), I do secretly wish he would stay my little baby forever! Slow down, Cole!

Great job, though, big guy! Can't wait to see what you learn next!
