15 Months Old!

Our big boy is 15 months old today! He's a happy little guy, and seems to grow more everyday (Mom is convinced he grew more hair last night).

This week he weighed in at 24 pounds, 12 ounces (67th percentile) and measured 32 1/4 inches (90th percentile).

Cheeks is busy walking all over, and does a little bit of running. His favorite activities include bringing toys to Ralphie, "reading" his books, taking Ralphie for walks, helping Mom with laundry, being chased around the house, putting things into containers, taking things out of containers, and emptying cabinets.

He has a few "words" these days - Da Da, Doggie ("Dogga"), Good Girl (to Ralphie.. "Go Gaa"), Help ("Hmm"), Mama ("Ba Ba"), More ("Mo"), and Yeah. He also does a few signs - "All Done", "More", "Diaper", "Play", "Dog", and "Car".

He started in-home occupational therapy this week. His therapist would like us to work on his fine motor skills with some hand massage, encouraging him to take things out of small containers (like a small measuring cup while eating), and activities that will help him to better understand how his fingers can work independently of each other. He has a good pinch, but does a lot of "raking", doesn't quite point with a single finger, and doesn't use his left hand as much as his right.

His speech therapy is going well so far. He's finally completely off the bottle, and loves his straw cup. He's getting better at chewing, and we're working on different techniques to help him to be more aware of where food is in his mouth.

He's completely off formula now, and has transitioned to rice milk. At some point we'll introduce coconut milk into the mix to get him some more fat in his diet. In the meantime, he seems to really love his rice milk (can't blame him. Nutramigen is pretty disgusting).

Cheeks is all around a pretty happy little man. It's amazing how quickly he grows and how fast the time has flown by. It's been so fun to watch him grow!
