An Early 9 Month Check-Up

Sorry, no pictures today. Just some stats.

Cole saw Dr. Mellick yesterday for an early 9 month check-up before we move.

Weight: 20 pounds, 6 ounces - 48th percentile
Height: 28.5 inches - 67th percentile
Head: 17 inches - 55th percentile

While those big cheeks make him look like quite the chunker (we often hear "that baby never misses a meal!" or "man, look at those cheeks!"), he's still lingering about average for boys his age.

He was sort of a good sport. We had to wait a while, so he got pretty cranky towards the end, but otherwise played with Mom and practiced his shouting.

Since his reflux seems to be improving, we are going to try weaning him off of his nexium. HOORAY!!!!!

Cole has been making a "sour" face when he eats his solids. It started with prunes, so we attributed it to the flavor. He started doing it with all flavors, though, and started making the face more frequently, and isn't as easily distracted from it. It scared Mom a little, so she took a video to show Dr. M, and Dr. M thinks that Cole is gagging on his food and not quite using his tongue properly. He had not done it in front of Susie, his OT, so she is going to come by today to watch for it, and to see if there are any tips she can give us before we head to Chicago. Hopefully she's got some tricks up her sleeve!

Cheeks, you continue to keep us on our toes. We love you, sweet boy.
