Big Boy is 8 months old today! He's starting out this month by getting one of his front teeth. This tooth seems to be hitting him a little harder than the bottom teeth. When he got up this morning, all he wanted to do was this:
After a bottle, some play with Sophie (the toy giraffe - one of his favorites these days), and some kisses from Ralphie, he cheered up a little bit. It seems today will likely be a whiney & clingy day, though.
Cole's favorite activities these days include chewing on Sophie, throwing toys from his high chair, rolling all over the floor, pulling Ralphie's hair, practicing "walking" with Mom & Dad, and playing with his Learn'n'Groove music table (anything involving standing makes him happy these days). His jumper continues to be a big hit.
Cole continues to has fun with his occupational therapist, Susie. Last week he reached out for her when she walked in the door. His eating is getting better, and he still loves his solid food. Not sure that he'll be crawling before we move, but he really wants to. He likes to practice rocking back and forth on his hands and knees, and tries to scooch across the floor to get his toys. His main form of moving around, though, continues to be rolling. He can't quite figure out how to use his arms and legs together to get moving.
His reflux seems to be much better, but his allergies continue to be a mystery.
He and Mom are heading back to the allergist on Monday to discuss his food allergies. His skin is SO sensitive, it's hard to tell whether it gets irritated from teething, rolling, sleeping on his tummy or food... of course, everything happens at once!
He still likes his dance parties at the end of the day. While getting him to laugh is still tough work, we just love when he lets out his little giggle. Pretty darn cute.
He and Ralphie are still getting along. We can tell that they really want to play together, but haven't quite figured out how yet. Ralphie doesn't understand that Cole isn't as durable as a big person, and Cole is learning how to be gentle with his dog-sister (pulling her tail or chewing on her foot is not acceptable).
Cole isn't quite babbling, but has discovered volume recently. Over the past week, he's had fun shouting and almost-squealing while playing.
We love you LOTS, Cole! Happy 8 months!
